Weekday Review

Part 1: It is finally raining here, I woke up and danced a sweet jig! I threw on my cute boyfriend jacket, black leggings, tall boots, and emo glasses for "Casual Friday" at the school. I look like my students.

Part 2: I have four prep periods to start my day on Fridays. I slept in a little and missed the national anthem. I'm still badass.

Part 3:I did a little marking and got REALLY tired of writing "it = singular, are= plural, get it?" I'm only two weeks into my career and already my marking is sarcastic. Get a grip, Crimmins.

Part 4: The quote of the week is a triple tie between: "You won't learn this through Osmosis" (blank stare from the student), "I can't learn this for you," and finally after asking James to sit down and stop hitting Helen and turn around in his seat for the last CUSSING time, I said the age-old teacher line, "If you don't want to be here to learn English like the rest of your classmates, there's the door."

Part 5: A Jambing is a delicious crepe-like food that is sold from a wheely cart across the street from the school. It is made from some kind of crepe mix, eggs, something crunchy in the middle (likely deep fried), and chopped onion. It really knows how the take the edge off. I declare every Friday a JAMBING FRIDAY!

Part 6: I am obsessed with Badminton.

Part 7: Chinese students are notorious for cheating over here. They have cheated on almost everything I have given them, and I even ripped up two tests last week. This week, for the vocabulary quiz, I am giving out 4 different tests. Can I outsmart them? Stay tuned...

Part 8: 11-11 lost their shit today. After bombing a quiz, two boys got into a fight, and while I was speaking to them in the hall, a handful of boys in my class sent about 50 paper airplanes out our 4th floor classroom window and into the wild, open sky.

Weekend, I welcome thee!
