Lazy Sunday

On Saturday I woke up and itched for an adventure. I caught the bus and subway into Beijing, and started to wander. I poked around and wandered off the beaten track, only to find that I could ask for directions in Chinese! As it turns out, you can learn some things through osmosis! I found this neat little outdoor shopping plaza called Soho, and discovered that it housed the most eclectic little stores, a three story Starbucks and a North American grocery store called Jenny Lou's!
My favourite parts of the day:

1. A shop called Lazy Sunday: home to adorable dresses, awesome converse sneakers, aged posters of the Beatles and Michael Jackson (yes, Chad, I got one for you!), hair accesories, bows, flowers, lace, eclectic earrings and necklaces, Paris-themed jewellery, mini postcards with lomography photos and stickers, rayban glasses and sunglasses, clocks, owls, woolen goods, leather jackets OH MY! I WAS ON SENSORY OVERLOAD!!!!! So I picked up a few knick knacks for friends and can't wait to mail presents home to my lovers.

2. On my Ipod through the day: Treelines, Bon Iver, Temper Trap, the Gaslight Anthem, Jaydiohead.

3. When I was lost and caught a cab and asked him to take me to JinWhie Soho Mah, and he understood!

4. It was rainy and beautiful and I smiled all day because I was happy.

Missin' you,

xox
